This "Show Deck" was designed for all applications where the original floor of the vehicle is a steel structure, or your truck is finished and you don' t want remove the existing floor. Installed in minutes, this deck can be used for shows and cruisin. The skid strip screws are attached to the aluminum subframe, eliminating the need to drill any holes in your pickup floor. This allows you to remove the Show Deck (see photo top right) for hauling and everyday use.
Use of the rubber-padded, extruded aluminum subframe prevents scratches as well as allowing proper air movement to ensure moisture control between the wood deck and pickup floor.

After much testing, we have put together what we feel are the best finishing materials in a kit form. The kit includes a marine- grade, tung oil-base spar varnish with ultraviolet blockers built in; a special reducer containing naptha; two quality natural bristle brushes; garnet sandpaper; Scotchbrite pad; a tack cloth; and complete instructions.

'60-'66 Che vy- GMC Fleetside
REPLACEMENT STANDARD BED WOOD - These boards are cut from kiln-dried oak or ash which is very hard, strong and stable. The color is golden red to light tan. The bed is then cut to size, grooved for skid strips, drilled for hold down bolts, sanded both sides, ready to finish.
CUSTOM SHOW BED WOOD - In addition to the specifications given for the standard grade, special attention is given to select boards with similar grain pattern. This is the bestgrade available.
Other species of wood are available on special orders. Inquire.
The bed wood is also available without holes. Specify.
The holes for the box side to floor are not drilled as the pickup manufacturers were not consistent in the locations. Simply set the edge board in place, mark the hole location, remove and drill.
TIP: '73-'87 Chevy-GMC Stepside pickups have bolts attached to the angles along the sides. Center punch these and drill through the head with a 11/32" bit. Square out the hole using a square file. In a few strokes the hole will accept the carriage bolts included in the Skid Strip Bolt Kit. See new Angle and Bolt Mt on page 7 to replace complete angle.

The stainless strips are available polished and buffed to a mirror finish as can only be obtained with stainless steel. Why stainless? SPOTWELD CUTTER ASSEMBLY.
Remove spotwelds in just seconds with your electric drill.
TIP: Bed angle replacement. Original equipment bed angles were spot welded in place. Clean up area around angles. Center punch all spotwelds on angle to box. Scribe a line under and on top of angle on box side for replacement reference. Measure from bottom of box side to underside of angle. Write down this measurement. Make notes of angle and hole locations. Drill out spotwelds with spotweld cutter (available $12.95). Set depth on cutter to drill only through angle. After drilling, remove angle and clean up the box area behind old angles. Set new angle in place using reference, and transfer location to box side. SEAL-A-CELL and ARM-R-SEAL are wiping oil-type finishes that produce a lustrous, durable fine furniture look with minimal fuss and bother. The final surface allows all the grain, color and character of the wood to show through, yet provides the protection of a layer of urethane. Ultraviolet absorbers and fungicides are added for extra protection. For routine maintenance, rub on a fresh coat as necessary.
